Document review, when done well, contains an ideal mix of people, process and technology. COVID-19 restrictions caused eDiscovery teams and service providers to rapidly (and abruptly) shift from a “clean room” to a work-from-home environment, accelerating the digital transformation of document review. For Epiq, this shift included standing up secure technology platforms and processes—the process and technology part of the equation—but also serious consideration regarding people. We initially asked, and we continue to ask, “since effective teams are an integral part of best-in-class document review, how can we ensure our teams continue to work in a collaborative and effective environment?”
During this engaging discussion we presented results from our recent study regarding the effectiveness of digital document review environments. Study inputs included data from almost 200 projects, and qualitative and quantitative research with Epiq clients and document review team members.

With over a decade of experience in electronic discovery, she has managed document reviews for various matters ranging from regulatory investigations, contracts, intellectual property, and class action lawsuits. She has been responsible for the supervision of review teams in several cities across the country and in Canada. Mrs. Arroyo Newton holds a BA degree from Pennsylvania State University and a JD from Duquesne University School of Law. Ilya PozharskyDirector of Microsoft Security Solutions, Information Governance, EpiqIlya Pozharsky is a security thought leader with over two decades of experience. In his role at Epiq, Ilya leads the global security consulting practice. Prior to joining Epiq, Ilya held a position within Microsoft’s Cyber Security Group as a Global Black Belt as well as the America’s lead for Microsoft’s GDPR Champs community. In that role, he worked with Microsoft’s largest and most strategic customer’s by consulting with their security and compliance leaders in how to meet their Security and Regulatory goals. Leveraging his extensive experience, Ilya helped customers migrate their critical data and systems from legacy on-premises environments to Microsoft’s cloud in a secure and compliant way, secure customers cloud environments, and use existing and Microsoft security solutions to meet their regulatory requirements. Ilya also holds multiple certifications including security certifications from both ISACA as well as ISC2 (CISM and CISSP respectively). In addition to maintaining membership of those two organizations, he is also a member of OWASP and IAPP. |

Drew WrightSenior Manager of Technical Services, Document Review Services, EpiqDrew has played an IT role within eDiscovery services for 13 years. He currently leads Epiq's Document Review Technical Services team that is responsible for 24x7x365 global support for all Document Review Services, helping to ensure that all review projects are managed efficiently and to meet client deadlines. Drew was instrumental in setting up the virtual desktop infrastructure and image management needed for the new digital document review platform.
