How Microsoft Purview Improves Information Governance and Compliance

Jason has been at Microsoft for seven years.  He graduated from Muhlenberg College with a BA in accounting and has over 20 years-experience in technology solutions.  Prior to joining Microsoft, Jason was the Managing Director of Cloud Services at Razor Technology, and he spent 14 years as Director of IT for Turner Investments. 

Rachel has been with Microsoft for 1.5 years. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Computer Science and brings with her experience from her time at EY consulting on a variety of compliance-related issues such as Information Governance, eDiscovery, and Privacy. She resides in Boston, MA. 

Matt joined Microsoft in August 2022. He has a BS in Commerce from the undergraduate business school at the University of Virginia where he concentrated in IT and Finance and minored in Business Analytics. Prior to Microsoft, Matt worked in the Forensics practice at Deloitte for 4 years where he specialized in database management services supporting engagements related to eDiscovery, communications compliance, and incident response management for client data breaches.

In her role, Amrita works with large global enterprises to influence their Data Compliance & Risk strategy and at the same time, engage with our product community to shape the future vision and roadmap for Microsoft Purview products. She has been with Microsoft for 3.5 years. Prior to that, Amrita has spent over 9+ years in the technology industry across diverse areas such as sales, marketing, product, and auditing. She has worked with both large corporations including Google, Deloitte, and start-ups such as GreyOrange. She has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (University of Delhi, India) and an MBA (Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto). 

Dan is one of the nation’s best-known experts on information governance.  He is an AIIM Fellow, former US Technical Expert to ISO, and a subject matter expert for the CIP certification.  Elam is the author of “Content Management: Case Studies and Trends” and has helped with over $4B of programs across the globe.  

Joe has been with Microsoft for just over a year and has 26 years of experience with Microsoft solutions.  Before joining Microsoft, he spent the largest part of his career as a Systems Infrastructure Architect specializing in Microsoft at Telerx Marketing a subsidiary of Merck.  More recently Joe has been in the consulting space for the last 7 years of his career before joining Microsoft, doing primarily migrations to O365/M365 and Azure as well as security and compliance engagements in those environments.  Joe has some specialization in Exchange and has been working with it since version 5.0.

Julie focuses on data classification, protection, and insider risk management at Microsoft. Prior to joining Microsoft, Julie worked as a consulted for a variety of partners in collaboration and data compliance. Julie completed her MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business, focusing on Finance and Strategy.
