Jonathan S. WeberVice President, Claims Optimization, ChubbJonathan has responsibility for Chubb’s Litigation Management process, which includes managing relationships with law firms and litigation support vendors in North America for Chubb’s Claims and corporate legal departments. He also has global responsibility for Chubb’s electronic billing system, T360, the tool used by the organization to operationalize the corporation’s legal and non-legal panel management process. His team also is responsible for analyzing and reporting on the company’s legal spend to the corporation’s leadership. Jonathan joined the company in 2007 after 13 years with AIG, where he worked in various claim and management capacities in fidelity bond, E&O and D&O claims. Jonathan obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and later a JD and MBA from The National Law Center at George Washington University. |

Brian E. MiddlebrookPartner, Gordon & ReesBrian Middlebrook is a partner in the New York office of Gordon & Rees and co-chair of the firm’s Privacy, Data & Cybersecurity group. His practice focuses on cybersecurity, technology and media litigation, as well as professional liability and complex commercial litigation. He also regularly advises clients on data privacy and cybersecurity incident response. He represents a broad range of clients, including individuals, insurance agents and brokers, attorneys, accountants, corporations, directors and officers, health care facilities, manufacturers, retailers, insurance carriers, and municipalities against claims of civil liability in state and federal courts in New York and throughout the United States. Emily SmallSenior Consultant, Analytics & Advanced Technologies, EpiqEmily partners with clients to leverage analytics tools, institutional knowledge, and substantive case knowledge in creative workflows that result in efficient, cost-effective, defensible, and quality work products. Additionally, she provides clients with bespoke trainings and documentation, with a focus on analytics products, processes, and best practices. Before transitioning to the Technology Assisted Review (TAR) Team, Emily joined Epiq as a Case Manager, where she developed and managed eDiscovery enterprise programs for global corporate clients. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. She is a member of the Massachusetts State Bar. |

Scott Hipsman, moderatorDirector, Solution Architects, EpiqScott Hipsman works jointly with various groups within the Epiq organization including sales, client services and operations to define requirements and guide client projects to the most efficient technology and workflow solutions. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the eDiscovery industry including roles in client services, product development and consulting. Throughout his tenure at Epiq he has worked with several Fortune 500 corporations and many of the law firms listed in the NLJ 250 both in the management of litigation matters and also with various research and development projects aimed at reducing cost, risk and complexity of eDiscovery for those organizations. Scott has also worked extensively with most of Epiq’s insurance carrier clients building systematic programs for them in order to help manage eDiscovery issues related to claims and direct matters. Scott received his bachelor’s degree with a focus on Computer Information Systems from Bryant University. Additionally, he has received certifications in Relativity, Brainspace, Everlaw and a variety of other eDiscovery technology platforms. Scott won Epiq’s Solution Architect of the Year award for 2011, 2012 and 2013 and went on to become director of the Solution Architect team in 2016. |

Larry Brown, introductory commentsManaging Director, Insurance Practice Lead, EpiqLarry Brown is the Managing Director of the Insurance Practice at Epiq. He is based out of the New York, New York office. He has over 20 years of experience in the legal services industry, specializing in technology consulting for corporate insurance carrier/broker legal departments, its insureds and AmLaw 200 law firms. He has developed customized programs for insurers to help with innovative workflows related to the significant amounts of data associated with litigation. He routinely consults with key legal and insurance executives on a national basis related to these programs to help manage their legal spend cost reduction and streamlined efficiencies. He has provided case consulting, professional services and technology solutions for hundreds of matters over the years. In recent years, Mr. Brown has helped to lead the cybersecurity response team at Epiq providing the programmatic searching, analytics and manual document review needs specific to business email compromises. Larry earned his Bachelors of Science in Commerce with special attainments in Finance and Information Technology from Washington and Lee University. . |
