After several years of practicing as a defense lawyer, Ms. Maniatis switched to the plaintiffs’ side of mass tort cases, focusing on cases involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices for over twenty years. She is an international invited lecturer and moderator on a wide variety of pharmaceutical and mass tort cases including, Opioids, Trans Vaginal Mesh, Fosamax, Ortho Evra, Risperdal, Propecia, Avandia, Onglyza, as well as several medical devices. Ms. Maniatis has been appointed by State and Federal Judges to serve as lead counsel and on numerous Plaintiffs’ steering committees, including fee committees.
Ms. Maniatis performs all levels of bellwether trial case-specific work-up currently serving as one of Milberg’s Dangerous Drugs & Devices Practice Leaders. She also works on behalf of numerous municipal clients nationwide and served as a practice leader in the firm’s Environmental and Toxic Torts department. Ms. Maniatis also works with the firm’s municipal/governmental clients on a variety of issues and cases.
Ms. Maniatis has been recognized as a Top Attorney of the NY Metro Area and Top Woman Attorney in the NY Metro Area (2013 to date). Ms. Maniatis serves as a founding member of Mass Tort Med School, an annual medical seminar for Plaintiffs’ attorneys that offers numerous physician speakers and cutting-edge medical issues. She previously served as a committee co-chair for the Women En Mass group.
Ms. Maniatis is an active runner and triathlete having completed Marathons, half-iron and full Ironman races, culminating with completing the Ironman Mont-Tremblant 140.6. She also serves as an Advisory Council Member to the Academy for Biotechnology of the Morris County Vocational School District & Mountain Lakes HS, in Mountain Lakes, NJ where she spends her free time cheering on her son’s baseball team.
